Hear what our members have to say about our organization!
ABWA member and Fundrasing Co-Chair, Cheryl Sedaker owns her own business, SeaCheryl Designs, after working in corporate America for 30 years. She works from her home in West Yarmouth fabricating custom cushions, pillows and window treatments.
Cheryl has been an enthusiast member since 2003. For the past 4 years has been Fundraising Chair and now shares that committee seat with Midge Rose.
“The support of the women in ABWA gave me the courage to return to my PASSION, sewing and creating. I was able to learn from the entrepreneurs that had already forged the road. I just needed to listen and follow.”
ABWA Member and Membership Chair, Heather Jackson of Hammerhead Creatives:
“As an ABWA Cape Cod Charter Chapter member for nearly 4 years, I can’t speak highly enough of the organization and the individuals involved.
I joined as a new business owner, knowing I needed to expand my Cape Cod network and find other women in business. I was immediately able to accomplish those goals, and additionally within the first year I found I was not only getting business referrals but even better, I was also making great friends.
Most gratifyingly, I got to help the organization in their mission to raise $$ for educational scholarships given to Cape women of all ages.
Admittedly, I found it initially challenging to make every monthly meeting, but I had made the commitment to show up, so I did. Almost 4 years later, having missed only a couple of meetings, I truly believe consistently attending has enabled me to enjoy the benefits of membership exponentially, both professionally and personally.
The best thing I did was to get involved with the leadership team, first helping out the Fundraising crew and now as Membership Chair; through this involvement, I have been able to meet all the members at our monthly meetings and additionally I get the chance to interact with new potential members from the time of their first contact with the group. It is a testament to the group itself that our membership has grown so significantly in the past year and I’m just proud to be a part of an organization with such impressive and versatile business women.”
