Serve on an ABWA Committee – It’s Worth it!
With her financial planning team in Chatham and Naples, FL, she helps clients plan for and reach their income goals for the latter years whether retired, rewired or still working. She is especially focused on the needs of women, and also volunteers with WE CAN of HarwichPort, helping women in transition.
Jane knew ABWA was the networking group for her. “The positive attitude of the ladies in the group hit home for me. I look forward to every single meeting and have made many valuable professional and personal relationships over the years as a result.”
June Bertucci, President of Small Office Computer Support has been a member of ABWA since 2007. June has served on several committees including Open House, Women of the Year and Fund Raising. June is currently serving her 2nd year as Vice President.
Owner of Small Office Computer Support since 2004, SOCS, provides computer services, repair and training to small business, non-profits and individuals.
June has embraced ABWA since her very first meeting. “The room is filled with powerful, professional woman, the energy is amazing. I felt like I found not only a great networking opportunity for my business but also resources and a place to build great friendships as well.”
Laura Lincoln joined ABWA in the Spring of 2010 and is currently serving her 2nd year as Treasurer.
Owner of Sound Bookkeeping Services since 2006 provides bookkeeping services to small businesses in the Mid Cape area. She is a Certified Bookkeeper through the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) and an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor through Intuit. Past board positions include co-secretary and Treasurer of her condominium association.
Laura was introduced to ABWA at the March 2010 Geek Girl Camp and quickly knew that she wanted to be part of this great networking organization. “I look forward to each ABWA meeting. I have met a lot of wonderful women this past year and a half. Everyone brings something different to the group and it is wonderful to see everyone sharing their life experiences and knowledge with others in the group.”
Maryann Murphy, professional organizer and time management consultant and has been a member of ABWA for 2 years.
Maryann works with businesses and homeowners to help them get better organized through one to one sessions, coaching by phone, and public speaking and training. She has been in business since 2007.

Maryann was originally invited to ABWA as a monthly speaker on Time Management in November, 2009, and found the group so welcoming, she decided to join. “The energy at every ABWA event is so supportive and warm. It’s a great place for women to grow their businesses.”
Teri Whelan:
Working on the Nominating Committee was work, but it was also a lot of fun! I really enjoyed talking to the members about the Board opportunities and ABWA in general, and got to know a few of the members much more than I did before. I even learned a little history about ABWA. Despite the many commitments the women in our group have, they took the time to talk to me or call me back to follow up. I was very impressed about this level of caring! I guess that’s what makes us special!
Aurora Rodrigo and Yvonne Hawes:
Working for the Scholarship Committee as co-chairs has allowed us to be part of our community as well as to help women fulfill their goals and aspirations.
It has also opened our eyes to how dedicated, resourceful and involved the women are at all levels and ages.
Even though we had a good idea of what women were capable of here on Cape Cod and the Islands, through ABWA we have been able to not only confirm this but it has even surpassed our expectations.
It has been an honor and a privilege to meet the women that have won ABWA’s scholarships.
Participation in this committee has given us enormous satisfaction.
